We look forward to meeting you and discussing your treatment options and plan. Please read the instructions below to get an idea of what to expect before, during, and after your visit. It will help make your consultation or your scheduled appointment more time efficient for you when you arrive at our office.
It is important that we receive your medical records before your visit; otherwise, the vascular doctor from our team will be unable to adequately evaluate you, and it may be necessary to reschedule your appointment until those records are received.
If your personal physician has referred you to Maryland Vascular Specialists, he or she will either contact us by phone or send your records to our office.
If you have referred yourself, you should contact your physician and arrange for your records to be sent to our office before your scheduled visit. Your past medical history is essential in diagnosis and treatment.
Filling out the patient information forms before your appointment will help save time when you get here. Please download and complete the forms below, and bring them with you on the day of your appointment.

When you make an appointment with us, you will be asked for your insurance information so we can verify it prior to your appointment. Make sure to bring your insurance card and your driver’s license or government state-issued ID with photo to your first appointment.

Maryland Vascular Specialists has adopted a No Cash Policy, effective September 1, 2018.
No cash will be accepted for payment of co-payments or account balances
in any Maryland Vascular Specialists office.
Payment may still be made by personal check, credit card, money order or cashier’s check.
Your care and treatment is always our primary concern. If this policy causes a hardship, please ask to speak to the Office Manager or our Billing Department.

Please bring all of your medications with you in their original containers when you come to the office. You will want to make sure that our doctors know about every medication you are taking, including over-the-counter and herbal medications. This is essential to avoid potential drug interactions between new medications we prescribe (or use during your vein or artery procedure) and your current medications.
After you have filled out your registration forms and returned them to the front desk, a member of our team will take you back to an exam room where he or she will take your blood pressure and pulse. We will also go over your medical history to find out not only what medications you’re taking but what, if any, allergies you might have; what kind of prior illnesses or injuries you may have suffered; and any operations or hospital stays you might have had. ** TIP: It may help to write down all of your medical events and dates, and bring this with you to your visit.
You will also be asked about the health of your family, including any hereditary conditions that might be related to your vascular and overall health. One of our vascular doctors will review your medical history, get any diagnostic tests done that are needed while you are at our office, discuss pertinent findings with you and your family, and recommend any further testing or treatment plans. Please feel free to ask the physician any questions you may have at this time.
A vascular ultrasound is a short, painless way to examine your blood flow. Depending on the ultrasound area, you will change into a gown or cloth shorts prior. Our Registered Vascular Technologist will give you a brief description of the exam, which could involve any or all of the following:
This is a non-invasive in-office procedure that causes minimal discomfort and takes approximately 30-45 minutes depending on the procedure.
An MVS staff member will provide you with a pre-operative list via mail or during your consult.
After your visit, our office will forward all medical records, test results, and suggestions for treatment from our vascular center to your referring physician. If you have questions, please call the Maryland Vascular Specialists where you were cared for between the business hours of 8:30am – 4:30pm so that we may assist you.
